SBU officer arrested for passing classified information to Russia
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
According to investigators, the SBU officer, who had access to restricted databases, collected and transmitted sensitive information to a representative of Russian intelligence services.

This included data about SBU employees involved in operational-search and counterintelligence activities, as well as information about facilities that were under surveillance or planned for monitoring.
The officer was detained on May 12. Prosecutors are preparing charges of high treason committed under martial law under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and will request pre-trial detention.
The SBU stated that the alleged Russian agent was uncovered by its Internal Security Department following a comprehensive counterintelligence operation in one of its frontline units.
According to SBU acting head Yevhenii Khmara, the agency continues its internal “self-purification” efforts.

“Systematic work on cleansing the Service and the entire Defense Forces of Ukraine continues. Exposing traitors and enemy agents remains one of my top priorities. Anyone who collaborates with the enemy will inevitably be held accountable,” Khmara said.
Investigators found that Russian intelligence had recruited the officer through her father, a resident of occupied Berdiansk who cooperated with Russian forces.
The father reportedly acted as a liaison and instructed his daughter via messaging apps on how to collect intelligence. The officer allegedly recorded classified information at her workplace on her smartphone or in notes, later transmitting it to the Russian side from home.
She allegedly passed on information about operational investigations and criminal proceedings conducted by Ukrainian intelligence services.
According to the SBU, Russian handlers were particularly interested in details about the exposure of their agent networks and propagandists, as well as personal data of SBU officers involved in counterintelligence operations.
During a search, investigators seized a smartphone containing evidence of cooperation with the FSB.
The suspect faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property if convicted. Authorities are also considering charges against other individuals involved in the alleged intelligence network.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, a court in Odesa ordered pre-trial detention for a 46-year-old man suspected of treason for allegedly passing information about Ukrainian military facilities and air defense operations to Russian intelligence.
