Odesa court orders detention of man suspected of passing Ukrainian air defense coordinates to Russia

That is according to the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.

Investigators say the man held anti-Ukrainian views, supported Russia's armed aggression, and was seeking ways to assist the enemy.

From February to March this year, he maintained systematic contact via a Telegram channel with a hostile agent and sent images of locations from Google Maps marked with precise geographic coordinates of military sites.

"The perpetrator recorded and sent to his handler the locations of mobile fire groups, military equipment, as well as information about the positions of air defense systems," the prosecutor's office said.

The man has been charged with high treason, defined as the intentional provision of assistance to representatives of an aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.
