Customs officers in Zakarpattia confiscate antique postcards featuring portraits of Hitler from Kyiv resident
According to Ukrinform, the Zakarpattia Customs stated this on Facebook.
The postcards were discovered at the "Chop-Zaliznychnyi" customs post during the inspection of passengers on the Chop-Prague train departing Ukraine.
In the suitcase of the 53-year-old Kyiv resident, customs officers found a sealed envelope containing five antique postcards that may possess cultural, historical, or antique value. The woman neither declared nor verbally reported that she was transporting printed materials dating back to the 1930s, which are restricted from export abroad.
Customs officials reminded that the export of printed works published before 1945 is permitted only with the appropriate certificate, which the woman did not possess.
A report on violation of customs regulations was drawn up against the woman. The postcards were confiscated, and their possible historical and cultural value will be determined by an expert.
As Ukrinform previously reported, officials at the "Chop-Zaliznychnyi" customs post prevented the illegal export of 24 collectible foreign publications to the European Union.
