Police detain two foreign nationals in Kyiv for displaying Nazi symbols in public
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv Police Communications Department reported the incident in a statement.
As police noted, during recent internet monitoring, officers discovered an image showing a man in a T-shirt with Nazi symbols displaying a flag bearing a swastika on a city street.
Through investigative efforts and assistance from criminal analysis experts, officers from the Pecherskyi District Police identified the individual as a 27-year-old foreign national. Further investigation revealed he was accompanied by a 25-year-old friend, also a foreign citizen, who was likewise wearing a T-shirt featuring banned symbols of the totalitarian regime.


Both individuals were detained under Article 208 of Ukraine's Criminal Procedure Code. During a search of their rented apartment, police seized evidence related to the offense, including clothing, a flag, and an armband patch containing Nazi totalitarian symbols.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — production, distribution, or public use of communist or Nazi symbols, and propaganda of communist or national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes.
This offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and confiscation of property.
