A court sentenced a resident of Kramatorsk, in the Donetsk region, to nine years in prison for passing on information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to Ukrinform.

The investigators found that in March, a local amateur photographer used the Telegram messenger to communicate with two administrators of local pro-Russian chat rooms created to collect intelligence.

The defendant acted knowing that the information he provided could get to the Russian military and harm the national security of Ukraine.

The man sent photos of the locations of Ukrainian army units in Kramatorsk. Some time later, the Russian army hit one of these facilities with a missile, which caused its destruction.

The offender was convicted under Part 3 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported, a Russian intelligence agent who wanted to destroy Ukrainian Air Defense in Dnipropetrovsk region was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
