Police officer's body found in Kharkiv, suicide investigation underway

The body of a police officer was found in Kharkiv on Monday, according to the investigation, it was a suicide.
Dmytro Chubenko, a spokesman for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, told the press, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Today, on July 3, at 6:40 a.m., the body of a police officer with a gunshot injury to the head was found on the street near a house in Nemyshlyansky district. His service pistol was found near the body. According to the preliminary version, it was a suicide," said Chubenko.
The deceased was an employee of one of the district police departments in the Kharkiv region.
To verify the circumstances of the case, a pre-trial investigation was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) with a note (suicide).
