Ukraine’s SBU presses formal charges against "Russian world” mastermind Dugin

Ukrinform
The Security Service of Ukraine has pressed criminal charges against the chief of the pro-Kremlin international organization Eurasian Movement, Oleksandr Dugin, who is widely known as one of the main ideologues of the so-called "Russian world" concept.

The SBU press office reported this on Telegram, as seen by Ukrinform.

"The figure is one of the key ideologues of Russia’s aggressive policy and the genocide of the Ukrainian people. In his numerous speeches, print, and publications, he has been denying the very existence of Ukraine as a sovereign state for more than 10 years, calling for its armed capture by Russian troops," the statement reads.

At the outset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Dugin was one of the first to publicly support the invasion force and justify war crimes against Ukraine.

Language and linguistic examinations initiated by the SBU confirmed the criminal nature of Dugin's activities.

The Prosecutor General's Office reports on Telegram that since May 2022, the propagandist has been penning and circulating content on the Vkontakte social network (banned in Ukraine), in which he called for "liberation" of the entire country of Ukraine, not only Kherson region or Donbas, and to create together with Russia a ‘New State, a real Empire, with a mission and Spirit, the Orthodox Kingdom.’”

In addition, the suspect publicly called for destroying the enemy – Ukraine – and its inhabitants to the last, to launch missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, including downtown Kyiv.

Dugin has been charged under Art. 110 Part 2 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and Art. 442 Part 2 (genocide).

Since the perpetrator is hiding from justice on the territory of Russia, the SBU is undertaking comprehensive measures to hold him accountable.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the SBU pressed charges in absentia against the head of the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport of the Russian Federation (Rosmorrechflot) Zakhariy Dzioev, who organized the transfer of Russian troops to Ukraine by ferry.
