Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree implementing the decision by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the introduction of sanctions against legal entities and individuals that Russia is using to transport military equipment and soldiers by rail.

The head of state said this in his nightly address on Saturday, January 29, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, I signed a decree on the implementation of the NSDC's decision on sanctions against legal entities and individuals that the aggressor state is using to transport military equipment and soldiers by rail. The issue concerns 185 companies and individuals," Zelensky said.

He said the assets of these companies in Ukraine are being blocked, and the available property would be used for the defense of the country.

He also added that further work would be carried out to ensure that similar blocking is applied by other countries.

Zelensky thanked everyone who helps Ukraine strengthen sanctions against Russia.

"By the way, I thank all the investigators who are exposing the ways used by the terrorist state in an attempt to circumvent sanctions," he added.
