The Interior Ministry of Ukraine intends to set up a joint team with the Diplomatic Security Service at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine to investigate into possible surveillance of former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.

"Today I have talked to several representatives of the United States diplomatic circles. We share a goal to protect human rights and to prevent violations of Ukrainian legislation and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. We plan to set up a joint team with the Diplomatic Security Service at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine for fact finding and conducting impartial investigation into the incident," Ukrainian interior minister Arsen Avakov said in a commentary to Voice of America.

Earlier, Avakov invited the US side to join the investigation into the possible surveillance of former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch during her term in Ukraine. This is said in the statement of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine regarding the materials published by the US House Intelligence Committee.
