SBU exposed about 500 corruption crimes among officials in 2019

In 2019, the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed nearly 500 corruption crimes among officials.
"The Security Service of Ukraine prevented 497 corruption crimes among officials of various levels during the year: from municipal and state authorities to law enforcement and military structures," reads the statement.
According to the SBU anti-corruption and organized crime department, the total sum of illegal payments demanded by corrupt officials exceeded UAH 65 million and the detected losses to the state and territorial communities amounted to over UAH 1.4 billion.
