Ukraine, Turkey sign declaration on fight against terrorism and transnational crime

The corresponding document was signed in Ankara on Tuesday, September 4, in the scope of Avakov's official visit to Turkey, according to the Department of Communications of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

"The document provides for cooperation in combating terrorism, illegal transportation of migrants and human trafficking, cybercrime, money laundering, illicit drug trafficking and transnational organized crime," reads the report.

During the meeting, Avakov stressed that Ukraine is increasing cooperation with Turkey on the issues of the fight against terrorism.

"Ukraine supports Turkey in all manifestations of the fight against terrorism. We had a very meaningful meeting on the issue of cooperation in combating this type of crime. And the declaration signed today will ensure better cooperation," the minister said.

Soylu, in turn, said that Turkey supports the process of reforms being carried out in Ukraine.

“In addition, today agreements have been reached on the cooperation of our coast guard with Ukrainian border guards. We have decided to develop the cooperation in this direction, as these issues require partnership of countries,” he said.

In addition, according to the Interior Ministry, First Deputy Head of the National Police - Head of the Criminal Police Viacheslav Abroskin signed a memorandum of cooperation between the National Police of Ukraine and the General Directorate of Security of the Republic of Turkey.
