The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has collected enough evidence to assert that Russia's top military and civilian leadership is responsible for the downing of flight MH17.

Ukrainian Deputy Justice Minister for European Integration Serhiy Petukhov wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Russia will be held responsible for the downing of flight MH17. The evidence gathered and already made public by the Joint Investigation Team is enough to assert that the top military and civilian leadership of Russia is responsible for this act of terrorism," Petukhov wrote.

He noted that the organizers and perpetrators of a terrorist act that killed 298 people would stand trial in the Netherlands.

In addition, Petukhov said that "Russia as a state will be held responsible for this international crime."

He also believes that the Verkhovna Rada must ratify an agreement with the Netherlands, which regulates the transfer of criminal proceedings to the Netherlands and international legal assistance in this investigation and the trial.

As reported, a Malaysia Airlines passenger aircraft Boeing 777, which performed flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by Russian-backed militants in Donbas in July 2014. There were 283 passengers and 15 crewmembers on board the aircraft, and all of them died.
