Court arrests two suspects in attempt on deputy head of Odesa Regional Council

"Under a motion lodged by the prosecutor's office on October 14, the Kyivsky District Court of Odesa arrested two suspects in an assassination attempt on Deputy Chairman of Odesa Regional Council Oleh Radkovsky," the statement reads.

On October 4, an attempt was made to kill First Deputy Chairman of Odesa Regional Council and former MP Radkovsky near an entertainment center in downtown Odesa. Unidentified individuals in a Kia car made several shots at him when was leaving a restaurant.

The official was injured and hospitalized. Criminal proceedings were instituted under Part 1, Article 15, Part 1, Article 115 (assassination attempt) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Two direct executors of the assassination attempt were arrested later. The suspects are a 23-year-old resident of Odesa and a 27-year-old resident of Kherson region.
