Interior Minister Avakov: Crime rate drops by 16.5%

During the first half of 2017, the crime rate in Ukraine dropped by 16.5% compared to the same period in 2016.  The level of detection of especially grave crimes ranges from 87% to 93%.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov revealed the corresponding results of the work of the National Police of Ukraine for the first half of 2017 on his Facebook page.

"The National Police summed up the results of their work for the first half of 2017. The dynamics are stably positive. The level of detection of especially grave crimes against life and health of people ranges from 87% in disclosure of intentional homicides up to 93% in detection of serious bodily injuries," Avakov wrote.

According to the posted infographics, for the first half of 2017, the crime rate dropped by 16.5% and 20.5% more crimes were disclosed compared to the same period in 2016.
