State Border Service: 28,000 people denied entry into Ukraine in 2016

The State Border Service of Ukraine in 2016 denied entry into the country to 28,000 people, of whom 6,000 were citizens of the Russian Federation.

Chairman of the State Border Service Viktor Nazarenko said this at a press conference on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“This year 28,000 [people] were denied entry. Over 6,000 were citizens of Russia,” Nazerenko said.

Also, according to him, over 2.7 thousand criminal violations were detected and over 71 thousand administrative violations were prevented, which is by 41% and 31% more compared with the previous year. Moreover, the service issued decisions regarding the fines totaling UAH 27 million, Nazarenko added.
