Former head of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv, who served under the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, was detained in Panama while attempting to enter the territory of Costa Rica.
This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin, Hromadske.tv reports.
"He was trying to leave the territory of Panama and to enter the territory of Costa Rica. The Costa Rican authorities denied him entry. The Panamanian colleagues paid attention to the fact that a so-called ‘Interpol red notice’ was near Kaskiv’s name in the database," he said.
Yenin also mentioned that Ukraine had already addressed the Panamanian authorities with the request to extradite Kaskiv to Ukraine and to take him into custody while this request was being considered.
