Kharkiv top official of fiscal service caught red-handed while taking bribe of UAH 40,000

Colonel Vladislav Abdula, head of the SBU press center in Kharkiv region, informed an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Law enforcement officers arrested a 42-year-old official after he received UAH 40,000 bribe from a businessman. It was established that he regularly demanded money from businessmen for not conducting audits of their activities and charging no penalties for violations revealed," Abdula said.

According to him, the issue of charging the arrested official with suspicion of receiving illegal benefits is considered.

As it became known, the investigators are documenting all episodes of criminal activity of the bribe-taker.

The Ukrinform correspondent was told in Kharkiv Region Police Office that  last year 96 cases of criminal offenses bearing the features of corruption were submitted to court, of which 53 belong to the category of grave and especially grave offences.
