Police detain suspect "teaser" who reported "bombs" at subway stations in Kyiv

The capital city police officers have detained a man who called in "bombs" at the subway stations, stores and governmental agencies.

The press service of the main directorate of the national police in the city of Kyiv told Ukrinform.

"Over the past few months an anonymous man called "102" police report line reporting about bombs at the subway stations, government buildings, shops and fast food restaurants.

Police after searching the reported locations “containing explosives” and adjacent territories have not discovered any explosives.

The policemen serving at the "Lisova" subway station were tipped by a man who heard that a man has used several times the word "mining" in his telephone conversation

A local resident, 32, jokingly called the police and reported the “bombs” at various locations calling himself a member of special law enforcement services.

"The man confessed to the crime. He knew that such his actions will result in criminal prosecution, but he believed he can’t be caught," the report says.

The suspect if found guilty faces imprisonment of up to six years.
