Russian forces strike Balakliia; blackout reported in part of city
The Russian army struck Balakliia in the Kharkiv region, leaving part of the community without power.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by Vitalii Karabanov, head of the Balakliia City Military Administration.

“The enemy has just struck the premises of one of the civilian enterprises in the city of Balakliia. As a result of the enemy attack, part of the Balakliia community is temporarily without power,” the post reads.

In addition, at around 11 a.m., the enemy also attacked Chuhuiv.

“A strike was recorded on the grounds of a children’s facility. Fortunately, there were no casualties. A fire broke out at the site. All emergency services are on the scene," community head Halyna Minaeva reported on Facebook.

This is the second attack on Chuhuiv since the start of the day: Overnight, Russian forces struck a critical infrastructure facility, leaving approximately 13,300 users without power.

As previously reported, on August 4, the Russian army attacked Balakliia in the Kharkiv region with Banderol munitions. Women aged 87, 79, and 72 were injured.
