The situation in the Kostiantynivka area remains difficult, but there is no encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kostiantynivka area.

This was stated by Brigadier General Oleksandr Bakulin, commander of the 19th Army Corps, in a comment to Ukrinform regarding the situation in Kostiantynivka.

According to him, the first Russian infiltrations into Kostiantynivka began last fall. It was at that time that units of the 19th Army Corps, along with others, began counter-sabotage operations.

As Bakulin noted, the enemy is operating in small infantry groups, attempting to infiltrate gaps between Ukrainian battle formations, and periodically using motorized vehicles to move closer to Ukrainian positions more quickly. The Russians support their assault operations with artillery and combat drones.

“The situation in the area is under control. The enemy’s attempts to advance are being thwarted. Logistical tasks are being carried out. The enemy is not succeeding. There is no encirclement of our troops in the Kostiantynivka area,” the brigadier general noted.

According to Bakulin, since February of this year, the 19th Army Corps has eliminated more than 700 Russian servicemen in Kostiantynivka alone. As of today, approximately 130 Russian servicemen have been identified in the city. The enemy’s positions are under constant surveillance and are targeted daily. A significant portion of the invaders’ personnel has been wounded or is trapped under rubble.

“Kostiantynivka is standing strong. The soldiers of the 19th Army Corps are holding their ground,” Bakulin emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on June 12 that the Russians carried out 13 attacks in the areas of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Vilne, and toward Kostiantynivka, Hruzke, and Toretske.
