SBU drones strike two oil pumping stations supplying fuel to Moscow
The SBU announced the operation, according to Ukrinform.
The primary purpose of the targeted facilities is to pump diesel fuel into the Moscow Ring Petroleum Products Pipeline and to transport petroleum products for export to the Baltic Sea ports, including the port of Primorsk.
The targets were located approximately 700 kilometers away.
“Local authorities have confirmed fires at two infrastructure facilities following the SBU drone strikes. According to data from NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service, thermal anomalies indicating fires were recorded in the areas of both oil pumping stations,” the SBU said.
The SBU emphasized that strikes on such facilities are of strategic importance because they are key elements of the aggressor state's fuel logistics network. Disrupting the operation of oil pumping stations complicates fuel supplies to industrial centers and military infrastructure, while also negatively affecting petroleum product exports.
Each such strike reduces Russia’s resource capabilities and cuts revenues that the Kremlin uses to finance its war against Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, during the night of June 10, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Russian shadow fleet tanker WEST Horizon in the Black Sea.
