Gasoline shortages emerge in Ryazan after refinery shutdown – media

Residents of the Russian city of Ryazan have begun complaining about shortages of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline at gas stations after the local oil refinery suspended operations following a drone attack.

According to Ukrinform, The Moscow Times reported this in an article.

One local resident told journalists that the city is experiencing fuel supply problems.

"Before work, I stopped at three gas stations in the Oktyabrsky district and couldn't find any 95-octane gasoline... A driver pulled up behind me and said there was no 92-octane fuel at many stations either," the man said.

City authorities have not yet commented on the situation.

It is noted that the Ryazan Oil Refinery, owned by Rosneft, was attacked by Ukrainian drones last week.

According to foreign media reports, due to infrastructure damage, the refinery has suspended operations from May 15 "tentatively until the end of June."

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Ryazan region refinery during the night of May 15.

According to Ukraine's General Staff, the AVT-3, AVT-4, and AT-6 refining units, as well as a diesel fuel hydrotreater, were damaged at the Ryazan refinery.

The Ryazan refinery is one of Russia's largest oil-processing facilities and is involved in supplying fuel to Russian troops.
