Perm oil refinery shuts down after drone attack — Reuters
According to Ukrinform, two industry sources told Reuters.
According to their information, three primary oil distillation units, as well as some secondary distillation units, were urgently shut down following the strikes.
One of the units, CDU-4, had not been operating since April 30 following a previous drone attack.
In 2024, the Perm oil refinery, owned by Lukoil, processed approximately 12.6 million tons of crude oil, or 250,000 barrels per day. The facility produced 2 million tons of gasoline, 5.3 million tons of diesel fuel, 700,000 tons of coke, and 200,000 tons of fuel oil.
As reported by Ukrinform, the region’s governor, Dmitriy Makhonin, stated on May 7 that drones had attacked industrial facilities in the Perm region, but did not specify the name of the facility. On May 8, the SSU again struck the Lukoil-Permnaftorgsintez oil refinery and the Perm production and dispatch station.
Before this, the facility had been attacked by drones on April 29 and 30.
