Germany will invest more than EUR 10 million in infrastructure for military training centers in Ukraine as part of an EU initiative aimed at ensuring the long-term combat readiness of the Ukrainian army.

German Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated this, Ukrinform reports, citing ZDF.

"Germany is making a financial contribution of more than EUR 10 million to the EU initiative to establish military training centers in Ukraine. Through this funding, the Federal Republic is financing the infrastructure necessary for creating a fully functioning training institution," the statement said.

According to Pistorius, the establishment of such centers directly in Ukraine is intended to support the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at an appropriate level even after the active phase of hostilities ends.

In addition to developing infrastructure inside Ukraine, Germany continues training Ukrainian soldiers at its own military facilities. Nearly 27,000 Ukrainian service members have already undergone training in Germany.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the development of six joint weapons production projects, the signing of the Drone Deal, and support for air defense and the energy sector were key topics during President Volodymyr Zelensky's meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
