Ukraine's air defense downs 192 of 216 Russian drones in overnight attack

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 192 out of 216 drones used by Russian forces to attack the country since the evening of May 11.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force announced this on Telegram.

From 18:00 on Monday, May 11, the enemy launched 216 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as Parodiya decoy drones, from Bryansk, Shatalovo, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 09:30 on Tuesday, May 12, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 192 drones in northern, southern, eastern, and central regions of Ukraine.

Twenty-five strike drones hit ten locations, and debris from downed drones was recorded at five locations.

The attack is ongoing, with up to ten enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
