Twelve killed, dozens injured as Russia attacks Zaporizhzhia with bombs, drones

Russian forces carried out an attack on Zaporizhzhia using four guided aerial bombs and drones, killing 12 people and injuring others.

According to Ukrinform, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram.

"Unfortunately, the number of victims has increased. Russians have taken the lives of 12 people," he wrote.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service had reported nine fatalities. One of the victims rescued from the rubble later died in hospital.

Rescuers have extinguished all fires at the impact sites, but emergency response operations are ongoing. All relevant services remain at the scene.

According to the regional police, Russian forces launched four strikes with guided aerial bombs on a residential area of the city. The attack hit infrastructure facilities, a service station, and a car wash, causing fires and damaging industrial premises, vehicles, and nearby residential buildings.

The National Police also reported that while emergency responders were assisting the wounded, Russian forces launched additional attack drones targeting the same area.

Regional authorities said the number of people requiring medical assistance has risen to 16. The wounded are reported to be in moderate condition, most suffering from blast injuries.

Paramedics, investigative teams, forensic experts, explosives specialists, and rescuers are all involved in the response efforts.
