Russians shell Sumy region nearly 2,300 times in April, killing 16 people

Russian forces carried out almost 2,300 attacks on the Sumy region in April, killing 16 civilians and injuring more than 200.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"During the month, nearly 2,300 strikes were recorded in the region: 741 FPV drone attacks, 535 UAV strikes (Shahed, Lancet, Molniya, and others), more than 500 guided aerial bomb strikes, nearly 300 artillery and mortar attacks, and 3 missile strikes," he said.

According to Hryhorov, 16 residents of the region were killed in April. Another 220 people were injured, including 67 children.

"More than 420 facilities were damaged or destroyed: 147 private houses and 84 apartment buildings, 8 educational institutions, and 4 medical facilities," he added.

He also noted that in April, more than 2,000 enemy UAVs were destroyed or suppressed in the Sumy region, most of them strike drones.

As Ukrinform reported, over the previous day Russian troops shelled 35 settlements in 15 territorial communities of the Sumy region nearly 40 times.
