Syrskyi: Defense Forces liberate more than 480 square kilometers from Russian forces since February
According to Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook.
He noted that he had a telephone conversation with the Chief of the Defense of the British Armed Forces, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard John Knighton.
"First and foremost, I expressed my gratitude to His Majesty King Charles III, the British government, and the British people for their support and comprehensive military assistance to Ukraine. I also expressed separate gratitude for the weapons, military equipment, ammunition, and high-tech equipment provided. I highlighted the UK's leadership role in the activities of the Naval Coalition and the Drone Coalition,—Syrskyi emphasized.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine briefed his counterpart on the current situation in the combat zone.
"Despite the complexity of the situation, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an active defense. In March, our units liberated nearly 50 square kilometers of territory, and since early February, over 480 square kilometers," the general emphasized.
As Syrskyi noted, the key tasks of the Defense Forces remain the destruction of the enemy, the containment of its advance, strikes against rear areas—including deep within the territory of the Russian Federation—and the protection of Ukraine's airspace.
"Our goal is to make every move the enemy makes as costly as possible by effectively combining intelligent solutions and modern technologies," Syrskyi noted.
He also thanked Sir Knighton and the British people for their consistent support and cooperation in Ukraine's defense and in the protection of democratic values in Europe and the world.
As reported by Ukrinform, during the opening of the 3rd International Academic Forum "Military Innovations in Contemporary Warfare," Syrskyi stated that Ukraine is changing the logic of warfare by shifting toward precision, adaptability, and creative solutions.
