War update: 157 combat clashes on frontline over past day, Pokrovsk sector remains hottest

On the front line on April 3, as many as 157 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders were recorded.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a Facebook update on the situation as of 8:00 on Saturday, April 4.

The enemy carried out three missile strikes using 37 missiles and 80 airstrikes, dropping 260 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians used 10,491 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,850 shelling attacks, 119 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russian forces carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Velykomykhailivka, Pysantsi, Pokrovske, Bohodarivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Vozdvyzhivka, Dolynka, Rivne, Kopani, Novomykolaivka, Vilchanka, Huliaipole, Hoshche, and Zarichne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian Defense Forces aviation struck three clusters of Russian personnel and equipment.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out seven airstrikes using 18 guided aerial bombs and conducted 134 shelling attacks, including 21 from MLRS. Three combat clashes were recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attempted five times to breach defensive lines near Starytsia, Krasne Pershe, and towards Tsehelne and Vilcha.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attacked eight times near Borivska Andriivka and towards Kivsharivka, Novoosynove, and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian invaders launched two attacks, attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses towards Dibrova and Novoserhiivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces stopped five attempts by Russian troops to advance near Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka, and near Zvanivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces carried out 23 attacks near Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and towards Illinivka, Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, Kostiantynivka, and Stepanivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces stopped 35 assault actions by Russian troops near Bilytske, Shevchenko, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka, Novopidhorodnie, Novopavlivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Molodetske, and Novyi Donbas.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked eight times near Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, Zlahoda, Novohryhorivka, Krasnohirske, Stepove, and Oleksandrohrad.

In the Huliaipole sector, 16 Russian attacks took place near Huliaipole, Olenokostiantynivka, Varvarivka, Zelene, and towards Dobropillia, Pryluky, Hirke, Charivne, Zaliznychne, and Tsvitkove.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukraine’s forces stopped two attempts by the invaders to advance near Stepove and Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian forces carried out five assault actions towards the Antonivskyi Bridge and Hola Prystan.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to April 4, 2026, amount to approximately 1,302,370 personnel.
