Russian forces drop nearly 8,000 glide bombs on Ukraine in March – Defense Ministry

In March 2026, Russian forces significantly increased their use of guided aerial bombs, deploying 7,987 GABs – more than 1,500 higher than in February.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy used 7,987 guided aerial bombs (GABs) in March. This is more than one and a half thousand higher compared to February, which had been ‘record-breaking’ by this indicator,” the statement reads.

As noted, the intensity of hostilities in March remained consistently high. Over the course of the month, there were 4,985 combat engagements.

“The highest daily number was recorded on March 17 – 286,” the ministry added.

In total, during March, the enemy carried out more than 115,000 artillery strikes, including 2,834 using multiple launch rocket systems.

As reported by Ukrinform, over the past day, April 2, there were 230 combat clashes between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders on the front line.
