Ukraine downs 541 air targets in massive Russian strike

Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 26 Russian missiles and 515 drones of various types.

According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

According to the report, starting from 18:00 on Thursday, April 2, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure facilities using attack UAVs as well as air- and ground-launched missiles.

In total, the Air Force’s radio-technical troops detected 579 aerial attack assets:

  • ten Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from the Kursk and Rostov regions);
  • 25 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from the airspace over the Samara region);
  • two Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from the Rostov region);

542 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drone types, launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 330 of them were Shahed-type drones.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 14:00 on Friday, April 3, air defenses shot down or suppressed 541 targets – 26 missiles and 515 drones of various types, including:

  • 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • two Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 515 drones.

Hits by 11 missiles and 27 strike UAVs were recorded at 20 locations, as well as the fall of downed drone debris at 22 locations.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the Kyiv region, Russian attacks damaged apartment buildings and a veterinary clinic; one person was killed and eight others were injured.
