Satellite image confirms damage to oil refinery equipment in Russia's Bashkortostan

That is according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Ukrinform reports.

"The satellite image confirms that as a result of a drone strike on the Bashneft-Novoil facility in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkortostan region, on April 2, the AVT-5 primary oil processing unit was damaged," the report said.

The refinery had previously come under attack on September 15, 2025.

At that time, the complex and costly AVT-6 primary oil processing unit was also damaged.

As Ukrinform reported, on April 2, a fire broke out at the Bashneft-Novoil plant in Ufa following a drone attack. The blaze at one of the oil refineries was confirmed by the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov.

Bashneft-Novoil is an oil refinery in Ufa and a subsidiary of Bashneft, which is controlled by Rosneft. The facility produces high-octane gasoline, motor and industrial oils, aviation and jet fuel, diesel fuel, bitumen, and other petroleum products. Its processing capacity is about 7.3 million tonnes of oil per year.
