Russians intensify operations in Kharkiv and Sumy regions while simultaneously actively attacking Lyman sector
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Victor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Task Force, reported this on air.
“Regarding Starytsia and Krasne Pershe—these are the Southern Slobozhanshchyna and Velykyi Burluk sectors, where the Russians have resumed their offensive. There had been a lull in the Velykyi Burluk sector until recently, but it has become active again. In the vicinity of Vovchansk, the pressure is already constant. The Russians have also intensified their activity in a corner of the Sumy region—the northernmost part of our area of control… Russian attempts to attack in the Kupiansk area continue from both the north and the east. Active offensive operations are also underway in the Lyman area,” Tregubov said.
According to him, Russian troops are also trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from Yampil and reduce the bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Oskil River.
At the same time, there have been no significant changes in the Luhansk region, and he called the Russian Federation’s claims of a complete capture of the region false.
“In any case, we expect the greenery to begin to sprout, significantly more active infiltrations will occur… If we consider Russia’s strategic objective of gaining control over the Donetsk region, then in our area of responsibility, this primarily concerns the Lyman sector… We expect this, but so far nothing in our sector points to any Russian success,” the spokesperson noted.
He added that in April, the enemy will likely focus on infiltration attempts along the entire front line and state border, with the focus remaining on the Lyman sector due to its strategic importance.
As reported by Ukrinform, 146 combat clashes took place between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops on the front lines over the past 24 hours, on April 1. The enemy applied the most pressure in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole sectors.
