Five killed in Ukraine as downed Russian Shahed drones detonate days after impact
According to Ukrinform, an adviser to the defense minister, Serhii Beskrestnov ("Flash"), said this in a post on Facebook.
According to him, "in recent days, in various regions of the country, Shahed drones that remained intact after falling exploded some time later. Five people were killed – local residents who came to the crash sites."
Beskrestnov noted that the reasons behind these delayed explosions are currently unknown.
He urged people not to approach drone debris, even if an explosion occurred during the initial fall.
He also called on the police and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to take this information into account.
On April 1, four people were killed in the explosion of a Russian UAV in the Zolotonosha district of the Cherkasy region.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, the victims had approached the crash site out of curiosity.
