The settlement of Vasiukivka in the Donetsk region remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and reports claiming it has been captured by Russian forces are not true.

According to Ukrinform, Operation Task Force "East" stated this on Facebook.

"Information is being spread online about the alleged occupation of the settlement of Vasiukivka. This information is not true. Our units maintain control of the settlement and are inflicting constant and effective fire damage on the enemy," the task force stated.

Enemy infantry attempting to infiltrate is detected in time and is mostly destroyed before reaching Ukrainian positions. Search-and-strike operations are being carried out, the military added.

According to Task Force "East", in the Sviato-Pokrovske area Ukrainian units withdrew to positions west of the settlement several weeks ago in order to preserve the lives and health of personnel and to improve coordination. Drone units and artillery continue to maintain constant fire control over the settlement and its approaches.

In Hryshyne and its surrounding areas, the situation remains difficult. Russian forces have failed to bypass Hryshyne and are attempting to attack directly within the settlement. Ukraine's Defense Forces are repelling numerous assaults in which the enemy uses infantry groups and occasionally light vehicles (quad bikes and motorcycles).

Ukrainian units are holding back the invaders, maintaining designated defensive lines, and blocking Russian advances from the east toward the center of Hryshyne. Recently, Russian forces have lost several positions within the settlement.

As Ukrinform previously reported, according to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian attempts to use fog and drizzle to conceal movement in Hryshyne, northwest of Pokrovsk, have been unsuccessful.
