Russian forces launch double strike on Chuhuiv, five people injured

On March 31, in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, the Russian army used a tactic of repeated strikes to attack a non-operational facility with drones, injuring five people, including police officers.

According to Ukrinform, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region reported this on Telegram.

“The strike damaged the workshop and equipment and caused a fire. Just a few minutes later, the shelling resumed—precisely when law enforcement officers were working at the scene. Two officers from the patrol police response unit and a security officer were injured. They were taken to a medical facility. In addition, two civilian women were injured: A 68-year-old woman received medical assistance on the spot, and a 43-year-old woman was hospitalized with a severe traumatic brain injury,” the department reported.

According to police, approximately 15 private houses were damaged as a result of the shelling.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for the commission of a war crime.

Chuhuiv Mayor Halyna Minaeva reports that a critical infrastructure facility and a children’s institution were damaged in the city, while private houses sustained damage primarily to windows and roofs. Part of the city is without power.

“All areas currently without power will be reconnected within approximately two hours. The exception is the Druzhba neighborhood. Power will be restored there after the area has been inspected for explosive devices and the damage to the power grid has been repaired,” Minaeva said.

As reported, on the morning of March 20, the Russian army launched a drone strike on Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region, injuring two people.
