Zelensky holds Staff meeting on air defense issues
He stated this in his nightly video address, Ukrinform reports.
"I also held a Staff meeting today – focused primarily on air defense. We thoroughly reviewed the situation regarding contract implementation and the procurement of all necessary items. This is not only about countering ballistic threats – it also concerns frontline air defense, missiles against drones, and interceptors. Everything will be provided," Zelensky said.
He noted that Ukraine's defense production must reach a level at which all necessary components of air defense systems, including anti-ballistic ones, are manufactured in Ukraine.
"We are working on this with several countries – it is still too early to disclose details. But what matters most is licenses for us, localization, and results here in Ukraine. This is a global goal, and we continue working toward it," Zelensky added.
As previously reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in March, the number of combat sorties by interceptor drones and the number of destroyed Russian targets increased by nearly 55% compared to February.
