Russian airstrike hits Sloviansk, damages Donetsk region's only maternity hospital

Russian forces carried out an airstrike using guided aerial bombs on the central part of Sloviansk, injuring one man and damaging the only maternity hospital in the Donetsk region.

Vadym Liakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The strike occurred at 11:50.

"Guided aerial bombs hit the central part of Sloviansk. An educational institution and a shop were destroyed. Private homes, apartment buildings, and government facilities were damaged. Among the damaged buildings is the only maternity hospital in the Donetsk region," the statement said.

Liakh noted that no children, mothers, or medical staff at the facility were injured.

According to him, one person is known to have been wounded – a 42-year-old man who is currently receiving medical assistance.

On March 20, Russian forces struck Sloviansk with three FAB-250 bombs, damaging civilian infrastructure.
