Russian shelling damages monastery of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in Kherson region

In the village of Pryozerne in the Kherson region, buildings of the Annunciation Convent were damaged as a result of Russian shelling on March 29.

According to Ukrinform, the Kherson Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported this on Telegram.

“On March 29, 2026, during a massive shelling of the Bilozerka territorial community by Russian troops, the Annunciation Convent in the village of Pryozerne was shelled during the mass on Sunday,” the statement reads.

As noted by the Kherson Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), a direct hit on the monastery’s premises caused severe damage to the cell block and utility buildings, and shattered the windows of the church.

No one was injured.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 1 in Sumy, the Church of the Presentation was damaged as a result of an attack by Russian drones.
