War update: Enemy launches 66 attacks, Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors see fiercest battles

Since the start of the day, the Russian army has attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 66 times, with the fiercest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing an update as of 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29.

The enemy fired artillery at the border settlements of Tovstodubove, Korenok, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Atynske, Ulanove, Vilna Sloboda, Topolia, Kozache, Novovasylivka, and Zhuravka in the Sumy region; as well as Yasna Polyana and Leonivka in the Chernihiv region.

In addition, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the area around the settlement of Vilna Sloboda in the Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the Russian army carried out 63 attacks on settlements and Ukrainian military positions, three of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched a single assault on Ukrainian positions in the Vilcha area.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russians attempted nine times to improve their position in the areas of Novoosynove, Petropavlivka, Kruhliakivka, Bohuslavka, Novoplatonivka, and Borivska Andriivka; two fights are ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two attempts by Russian invaders to advance toward Cherneshchyna and Novoserhiivka; one engagement is ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, an engagement with the enemy is ongoing in the Rai-Oleksandrivka area.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attempt to advance in the Fedorivka Druha area.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian invaders carried out 17 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka; three fights are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, Russian forces have attempted 19 times to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Udachne, Toretsk, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Novomykolaivka, Biliakivka, Molodetske, Filiia, and Novopavlivka, as well as toward Hannivka; four clashes are ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched seven attacks near the settlements of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Zlahoda, Vyshneve, and Rybne. Additionally, Lisne and Pokrovske were struck by guided bombs.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces repelled six Russian attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, and Myrne; one engagement is ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vozdvyzhenske, Shyroke, and Dolynka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russians attacked in the Prymorske area. The Zarichne area was hit by an airstrike.

In the Prydniprovske sector, no enemy assault operations were recorded.

In other sectors, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No attempts by Russian forces to advance have been recorded.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of March 29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces struck a Russian Army BM-30 Smerch/Tornado-S multiple rocket launcher system in the temporarily occupied Crimea and fuel tankers in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region.
