CinC Syrskyi meets frontline commanders on “hot” southern fronts

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi discussed with unit commanders in the Southern Operational Zone their views on improving the situation and options for further action.

According to Ukrinform, he announced this on Facebook.

Syrskyi noted that he had made a working trip to the Southern Operational Zone, where intense combat operations are ongoing. In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy continues to put pressure on defensive positions.

“We are holding back the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Huliaipole, Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Varvarivka, Myrne, Olenokostiantynivka, and others—there are about 20 combat engagements every day,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

He met with the commanders of assault and airborne assault units and formations currently engaged in active defense in designated sectors. During the meetings, he heard reports on the current situation and outstanding issues. He discussed with the commanders their views on improving the situation and options for further action.

"We are monitoring the enemy’s redeployment of additional forces and assets and neutralizing the enemy. On site, I issued appropriate orders regarding the additional provision of ammunition and logistical support to the units," Syrskyi noted, thanking the commanders for their unconventional decisions on the battlefield and for saving the lives of soldiers, and expressing gratitude to all servicemen for their resilience and dedication.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to Syrskyi, Russian troops have intensified their offensive operations on several fronts simultaneously—from March 17 to 20, the Russian army carried out 619 assaults.
