Ukrainian air defenses intercept 121 of 147 drones launched by Russia overnight
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
From 19:00 on March 24, the enemy launched 147 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, from Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 80 of them were Shahed-type drones.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, repelled the aerial attack.
According to preliminary data as of 08:30 on Wednesday, March 25, air defenses shot down or suppressed 121 drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.
Hits by 24 strike UAVs were recorded at 18 locations, along with debris from downed drones falling at three locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several hostile UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace, the Air Force said.
On March 24, Russian forces carried out a massive daytime air attack on a number of Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk. Casualties were recorded.
