War update: 54 clashes on front line since morning, hottest fighting in Pokrovsk sector

The Russian army has attacked Ukrainian defense positions 54 times since the start of the day. The invaders are most active in the Pokrovsk sector.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 16:00 on Sunday, March 22, according to Ukrinform.

Today, the enemy struck border areas. The settlements of Korenok, Otruba, Brusky, Sosnivka, Neskuchne, Yastrubshchyna, Tovstodubove, Kucherivka, and Bachivsk in the Sumy region came under fire. From the air, the Russians struck Volfyne.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the invaders shelled settlements and defense positions 66 times, including five times with multiple launch rocket systems. In this section of the front, they also carried out one assault action.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops carried out four attacks toward Starytsia, Vovchansk Khutory, Zybine, and Okhrimivka. One assault action is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian army twice attempted to improve its position near Boryvska Andriivka and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attempts to advance toward Shyikivka, Serednie, and Dibrova.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Russians tried three times to advance on defense positions toward Zakitne, Riznykivka, and Pazeno.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army attacked once near Orihovo-Vasylivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out seven attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, Russian troops have attempted 21 times to push defenders from their positions in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novomykolaivka. One of their attacks is ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy advanced three times toward Ternove, Yehorivka, and Novohryhorivka. Two clashes are ongoing. In the Ivanivka area, the Russians carried out airstrikes.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Russian army carried out nine attacks toward Ukrainian positions in the areas of Solodke, Huliaipole, and Myrne. One assault action is ongoing. From the air, the invaders struck the areas of Vozdvyzhivka, Novoselivka, Kopany, Huliaipilske, Dolynka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Tersianka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army carried out airstrikes in the Komyshuvakha area. The enemy also targeted Bilenke and Krynychne, apparently using missiles for this. No assault actions have been carried out in this sector today.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the invaders have also so far not undertaken any offensive actions.

In other sectors of the front, the situation has not changed significantly. No attempts by Russian troops to advance have been recorded.

Ukrainian defenders are wearing down the enemy along the entire line of combat engagement and in the rear.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian forces are preparing for new offensive actions simultaneously on several sectors.
