Russian drones strike community in Sumy region, leaving two killed, one injured

In the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community of the Sumy region, a drone attack on civilian infrastructure killed two brothers, aged 33 and 37, and injured a 54-year-old man.

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"On March 19, 2026, at around 10:30, the enemy attacked civilian infrastructure in the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community with drones. As a result of the attack, two brothers, aged 33 and 37, were killed. A 54-year-old man was also injured," the report stated.

Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of the attack. A pre-trial investigation is underway for war crimes that caused the death of a person (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Earlier, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported that a Russian drone attacked the Velyka Pysarivka community. A 62-year-old local resident was wounded and died before medical personnel arrived.

The regional prosecutor's office also reported that on March 19, at around 09:10, a Russian drone attacked a civilian vehicle in the Vorozhbyanska community of Sumy district. Two men, aged 64 and 65, were injured in the attack.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 18, Russian forces carried out 50 shellings across 25 settlements in the Sumy region, resulting in four injuries and damage to civilian infrastructure.
