War update: 171 clashes over past day, heavy fighting on Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Huliaipole fronts

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces and Russian troops engaged in 171 combat clashes, with the heaviest enemy pressure recorded on the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole axes.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this on Facebook, providing operational updates as of 08:00 on Tuesday, March 17, Ukrinform reports.

According to the General Staff, yesterday the enemy carried out one missile strike using a single missile and 70 airstrikes, dropping a total of 200 guided bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 9,616 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,715 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian positions, including 98 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.

Enemy airstrikes targeted Ivanivka, Havrylivka, Orly, Samiilivka, and Levadne in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipole, Dolynka, Kopani, Charivne, and Bilenke in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Prydniprovske, Tomyna Balka, Lvove in the Kherson region.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force struck nine areas of concentrated enemy personnel and equipment.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy conducted 87 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including four using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Five airstrikes were carried out using 15 guided aerial bombs. Four combat clashes were recorded along this direction.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy made three attempts to break through Ukrainian defensive lines toward Vovchansk and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, nine attacks were carried out toward Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, Hlushkivka, Novoosynove, Kupiansk, and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman sector, nine attacks were carried out, with Russian forces attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses toward Drobysheve, Lyman, Stavky, Dibrova, and Borova.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled ten attempts by the enemy to advance toward Yampil, Platonivka, Riznykivka, Ozerne, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attempted to improve their positions by assaulting toward Minkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 30 attacks toward Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 31 enemy offensive actions toward Bilytske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Udachne, Kotlyne, Filiia, Novomykolaivka, and Novopidhorodnie.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, five attacks were carried out toward Danylivka and Zlahoda.

In the Huliaipole sector, 21 enemy attacks were recorded toward Zaliznychne, Myrne, Zelene, Charivne, Huliaipole, and Varvarivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, no attempts by the enemy to improve their positions were recorded.

In the Dnipro River sector, no assault actions were conducted by the enemy.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
