Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) extinguished a fire caused by a Russian drone strike on a passenger train in the Sumy region.

According to Ukrinform, the SES Main Directorate in the Sumy region reported this on Facebook and released video and photos from the scene.

On Saturday, March 14, a Russian UAV struck a commuter train running on the Smorodyne–Vorozhba route in the Verkhnia Syrovatka community.

As a result of the strike, the cab of the push locomotive caught fire. A fire also broke out in an open area nearby.

“Rescuers promptly arrived at the scene and, despite the threat of repeated strikes, managed to extinguish the fire,” the SES said.
