Ukrzaliznytsia changes train routes in Sumy region after Russian drone strike on passenger train
According to the company's Telegram channel, temporary adjustments to train routes will be in place on March 14, 15 and 16.
"Russia continues to strike Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and logistics," Ukrzaliznytsia said.
A Russian UAV struck the Smorodyne-Vorozhba passenger train, hitting the rear diesel locomotive. No casualties were reported.
Ukrzaliznytsia said its monitoring team responded quickly: passengers were safely evacuated and the train crew promptly detached the railcars from the locomotive.
As a result, the route of train No. 6011/6012 Kyrykivka-Vorozhba has been temporarily shortened to the 68 km stop, while train No. 6016 Vorozhba-Boromlia will not operate on Saturday.
Several additional services will also be suspended.
