Russians attack four Ukrposhta branches in one day, employees injured
This was reported by Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smilyansky on Facebook, as cited by Ukrinform.
“Today was a difficult day for the Ukrposhta team and infrastructure,” Smilyansky said.
“Four branches were either completely destroyed or partially damaged. But the most important thing is that there were no fatalities among the Ukrposhta team. Some of our employees were injured,” he added.
According to Smilyansky, “the morning began with the central branch in Brovary being hit. We are grateful to all the State Emergency Service workers who quickly extinguished the fire. We will now analyze whether we can restore the branch in this building. But our clients will be able to pick up their parcels starting Monday at branch 07403. Fortunately, the vast majority of parcels were saved, and we will compensate for any damaged items.”
He also noted that “the enemy spent half the day destroying a mobile Ukrposhta branch near Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones, and unfortunately, they succeeded. But the crew managed to take shelter and has already been evacuated home. The village of Vyshchetarasivka will not be left without service; we will redeploy a vehicle from our reserve.”
“A guided aerial bomb completely destroyed the branch in Bereza village in the Sumy region. The branch manager received minor injuries, but her life is not in danger – she is under medical supervision,” Smilyansky said.
The Nikopol branch of Ukrposhta was also hit. Everything there will be restored soon, he emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on March 2, Russian forces attacked the central branch of Ukrposhta in Druzhkivka, Donetsk region.
