Ukrainian forces hit key Kerch ferry crossing, damage two Russian military vessels
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) posted on Facebook that the operation targeted the Russian railway ferry Slavyanin and the vessel Avangard, which were key components of the Kerch ferry crossing, Ukrinform reports.
"On the night of March 13-14, 2026, specialists from the HUR's Active Operations Department successfully struck two military vessels of the Russian aggressor state. As a result of the operation, the enemy's railway ferry Slavyanin was disabled and the vessel Avangard was damaged," the Ukrainian military intelligence agency said.
HUR noted that the ships were among the main elements of the Kerch ferry crossing and played a critical role in Russia's maritime military logistics, including the transport of weapons, military equipment, and ammunition.
As part of the operation, Ukrainian special operations forces, together with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, also carried out strikes on the infrastructure of Port Kavkaz in Russia's Krasnodar Territory, which Moscow uses to support its war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukraine's General Staff confirmed strikes on the Afipsky oil refinery and infrastructure at Port Kavkaz in the Russian Federation.
