Ukraine’s air defense forces down 58 Russian missiles, 402 drones

Starting from 18:00 on Friday, March 13, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using attack drones as well as land- and sea-based missiles.
In total, the radar surveillance units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected 498 aerial attack weapons, including:
- two Zircon anti-ship missiles (launched from Crimea);
- 13 Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from Russia’s Bryansk region);
- 25 Kalibr cruise missiles (launched from the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea);
- 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from Russia’s Vologda region);
- four Kh-59 / Kh-69 guided air-to-surface missiles (launched from Russia’s Kursk region and the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region);
- 430 attack UAVs including Shahed drones, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, launched from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiiske and Chauda in Crimea. Around 250 of them were Shahed-type drones.
The main direction of the strike was the Kyiv region.
The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 on Saturday, March 14, Ukraine’s air defenses shot down or suppressed 460 targets, including:
- one Zircon anti-ship missile;
- seven Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 25 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- one Kh-59/69 guided missile;
- 402 drones of various types.
Hits by six missiles and 28 attack drones were recorded at 11 locations, while debris from downed UAVs fell at seven locations.
Information regarding four enemy missiles is still being clarified.
The attack is ongoing, with several hostile drones still detected in Ukrainian airspace.
As previously reported, in the Kyiv region, four people were killed and 15 injured as a result of the Russian attack on March 14.
